ICAO Dangerous Goods Subject Update
We are happy to announce an update to another CTS subject, ICAO Dangerous Goods.
This updated subject is designed to meet the IATA competency-based training approach appropriate for flight crews, load planners, and shippers of Part 135, Part 125, and Part 91 operators to ensure the safe transport of dangerous goods by air, and includes training on the basics of dangerous goods, classifying and preparing dangerous goods shipments, transporting cargo and baggage, and collecting safety data. It meets the training requirements of the ICAO Technical Instructions and IATA Section 1.5 and the IATA Dangerous Goods Training Guidance (formerly known as Appendix H) for function-specific training of flight crew members, load planners, and shippers.
In addition, since U.S. operators are permitted to utilize ICAO DG regulations in lieu of the domestic Hazardous Materials Regulations, as long as all specified requirements are complied with, we have included information on the U.S. variations for all material to aid compliance with both ICAO regulations and U.S. Hazardous Materials Regulations.
The new ICAO Dangerous Goods course replaces our current course. Users already taking the ICAO Dangerous Goods course do not need to do anything to access the updated course.
For questions about this tutorial and others, feel free to email us at train@www.ctsys.com; we’d be happy to hear from you.
