Winter Operations Subject Updates to Cold Temperature Airports

Part of our service at CTS is updating our current subject material when updates arise. To that end, we have updated our rotor wing and fixed wing Winter Operations subjects per InFO 21004, which cancels and replaces InFO 19012. The updated InFO replaces the term “Cold Temperature Restricted Airports” with “Cold Temperature Airports” (CTA). Additionally, the FAA will no longer publish the Notice to Airmen Publication (NTAP) that provided pilots a list of airports, affected segments, and procedures needed to correct published altitudes at or below published temperature limitation.

FAA recommends operators, pilots, safety directors, and anyone involved in ensuring flight safety understands the procedures required at CTAs. CTS has you covered- and up-to-date when it comes to training and understanding your Winter Operations requirements. For a list of terminal procedures, check out the FAA’s webpage: https://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/flight_info/aeronav/digital_products/dtpp/search/

For questions about this tutorial and others, contact CTS at (316) 265-1585; we look forward to hearing from you.
