Training in general international operations and navigation, communications, and surveillance performance requirements prepares pilots for operations in international airspace and oceanic regions.
With a subscription to our library of International Operations training courses you can tailor an online training package to your operation’s specific needs whether you operate worldwide or only in North America. In addition to the included courses, we can custom-build training courses, assist you in selecting any of our current courses to meet training requirements, and align your training manual to the CTS course catalog while making suggestions to help fill any gaps.
Our basic International Operations Course Package addresses the standards and recommended procedures for international operations, with an option to use the worldwide course or just material for North America. In addition, it includes training on performance-based navigation, communication, and surveillance equipment and capabilities required to operate in different oceanic and international airspace areas, including RVSM. This training is provided by the Performance-Based Navigation (PBN), (including RNP, RNP APCH, RNP AR, RNAV, B-RNAV, P-RNAV, and Baro-VNAV), Performance-Based Communication and Surveillance (PBCS) (including coverage of CPDLC and ADS-C), and Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM) subjects.
Our International Operations course provides pilots with a comprehensive overview of the ICAO operational requirements, international flight publications, and orientation and oceanic enroute charts. The course covers essential topics such as the differences between PANS-OPS and TERPS, the importance of FANS-1-A – CPDLC and ADS-C communication systems, performance-based navigation including RNP 4 and 10 requirements for oceanic and remote airspace, including requirements for adding RNP capabilities on the flight plan, North Atlantic RNP-10 and 4 on the North Atlantic Orientation Chart, and RNPC in Canadian airspace, and guidance for operations in the West Atlantic (WAT), Gulf of Mexico (GOMEX), Carribean, Pacific, and NAT airspace areas.
Performance-Based Navigation (PBN) provides a modular overview of the types of PBN used, allowing you to focus on elements that apply to your operation. The course contains tutorials that cover an overview of PBN, RNP APCH and Baro-VNAV operations, guidance for B-VNAV and P-RNAV in European airspace, and RNP procedures with Authorization Required (AR).
Performance-Based Communication and Surveillance (PBCS) provides pilots with an overview of communication and surveillance elements of air traffic management so they may understand the relevant data link communications system theories as they apply to operational use. This course contains tutorials that cover PBCS, CPDLC and ADS-C.
Our Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM) course provides essential knowledge for pilots authorized to operate between FL 290 and FL410. You’ll learn how to safely operate with increased airspace capacity and take advantage of more fuel-efficient altitudes.
